Los Amigos Peter

Peter (Stephen Fry) se ha quedado solo, sin sus padres. Decide llevar a cabo un deseo: invitar a sus mejores amigos a la gran mansion que ha heredado para la fiesta de fin de año. Son los amigos entrañables del colegio, a los que casi nunca ve y que con ellos organizaban obras de teatro y revistas musicales. Van llegando todos y, a pesar de un reencuentro diez años después, empiezan a surgir los problemas, sus sueños y sus esperanzas rotas por matrimonios de conveniencia. Durante dos días ríen, lloran, comen, beben, se insultan, charlan, hacen el amor y cantan. Pero Peter ha guardado una sorpresa para el final.

Película ligera de Kenneth Branagh, de la época de su matrimonio con Emma Thompson. Sin entrar en grandes profundidades acerca del valor de la amistad, supuesto "leit motif" de la cinta, se queda en agridulce comedia dramática de situación, con un leve toque cínico. Estupendo reparto.
